An American agent undergoes plastic surgery to make him look Japanese so he can infiltrate Japan and help to free an American POW.

Major Steve Ross (Tom Neal) is a super-patriotic WW2 American pilot, raised in Japan, agrees to return to the East to obtain weaponry information from captive scientist Lewis Jardine (Marc Cramer). The suicide mission doesn't frighten Ross as his sweetheart, Abby Drake, has died and he now only wants to perish serving his country. After plastic surgeons remodel his features, he parachutes into Japan and heads for the concentration camp where Jardine and many American soldiers and nurses are confined. There he learns that Abby is very much alive nurse who has been taken prisoner, and is now in love with American serviceman Captain Andrew Kent (Michael St. Angel). Ross, following his orders, obtains the vital information, in the process encountering and outwitting several unsavory Japanese, including the insidious Major Norgia (Leonard Strong). But his true adversary is Colonel Okanura (Richard Loo), a wily intelligence agent whom Ross went to college with, and who remembers every quirk of his school chum.—Les Adams <[email protected]>
