An Irish boy's grandmother is dying.

Brian, 7 and his feckless Mother Eileen arrive in her home town, having no where else to go. Eileen's judgmental mother reluctantly takes them in, and gets to know Brian whom she has never met. Brian takes his promise to look after his Granny should she get ill seriously, and when she falls and is taken to hospital, he takes matters into his own hands.
