Summaries

Murder witness Jacques joins the Foreign Legion in Africa, where he and a motley crew, all on the run from their problems, stumble through misadventures.

Gérard (André Valardy), a clumsy waiter, Jacques (Jacques Bouanich), an unemployed witness of a political murder, Daniel (Daniel Derval), a homosexual, and Eddy (Eddy Jabes), son of a Swiss banker, meet to the foreign legion. A phone call from the highest military authorities enjoins the Colonel of the regiment (Henri Garcin) to get rid of them so that this story of the murder Jacques witnessed does not get out. The colonel tries a first time, without success, to lose them in the desert. Other attempts fail just as much. They then realize that they are in mortal danger and decide to flee. But all their escapes will end badly and they will end up in prison. They must be shot at dawn. Fortunately Katia (Dany Carrel), the colonel's mistress is warned of this injustice and frees the young people. They flee in a jeep trapped by the colonel. In fact, the colonel took the wrong vehicle and it is he who will jump.—unifrance
