Eric Svenning was born into a working-class family in Malmö in 1901. He grew up under poor circumstances, but later in the 20th century became one of the city's most powerful politicians. He dreams of becoming an operetta charmer, but ends up in the world of politics. Obsessed with eradicating poverty and the slums, he is involved in demolishing old Malmö, even his own birthplace on Kaptensgatan in the district Lugnet.—Auto Images AB
