Five college buddies from the University of Texas circa 1971 embark on a final road trip odyssey across the Mexican border before facing up to uncertain futures, in Vietnam and otherwise.

Austin, 1971. After graduating from the University of Texas, The Groovers, five close-knit roommates, realise that parting ways is more complicated than expected. So, determined to make the most of their remaining time together, they embark on an epic road trip across the Lone Star State in a teal 1959 Cadillac. As they confront the looming challenges of an impending wedding, the Vietnam draft, and the pressure of finding a job, the young travellers must look life in the eye and embrace the uncertainties of adulthood.—Nick Riganas
