Synopsis

Fall, Rise, Fall is an audiovisual essay narrated in the first person by Elad Abraham, a former soldier in the Israeli army, who is both the protagonist and the director in this story that captures reflections on his history, his Jewish heritage, his education within of Zionism and the search for his identity after being expelled from the Israeli army for alleged "insanity".Throughout this process he questions the pillars with which he was educated, reconfiguring his vision and his position before the world around him, in a total personal transformation from his awareness from a humanistic ethics.Democracy was recovered in Argentina in 1983, his family returned from exile in Israel where he was born, during the war in Lebanon. In the social, economic and legal crisis of 2001 in Argentina, Elad, influenced by the Zionist propaganda he received in his childhood and adolescence, decides to return to Israel in search of a better future.Enlisted in the Israeli army, he finds himself inserted in a complex war machine that suppresses his identity and puts it in contradiction with his own values. In this context he begins a journey into the subjectivity of the author, who is shipwrecked in an internal crisis for having built an identity based on sectarian tribalism within the Jewish community.Along with Elad's experiences, there are the views of dialogue participants such asSilvana Rabinovich (philosopher), Illan Pappe (historian), Efraín Davidi (economist) Jorge Elbaum (sociologist) and Gilad Atzmon (musician) who throw a historical-philosophical and cultural perspective to the process of personal transformation of the author, problematizing the emotional and eastern intellectual.Fall, Rise, Fall is a film that from a small story tries to compose a wide landscape of questions that bother and shudder; a story to review "history".From a particular perspective, Elad rehearses reflections on the apartheid of the Palestinian people in contradiction to the decadent Zionist discourse where he was educated.
