Witch siblings Rowan, Giada, and Calliope have been on the run constantly, ever since the drowning that killed them all four centuries ago. Trying to survive in an ever-changing world when the three of them always stay the same, the siblings switch jobs and towns and identities the same way others switch coats and hats. Their most recent endeavor: working as nannies at a local orphanage. Run by a strict curriculum, and an even stricter owner, the siblings start to read the gloomy children a book of fairy-tales with the hope that it will bring some joy into the house. But their magic makes the fables larger than life, and when strange oddities begin to manifest too close to home, the siblings are forced to make a difficult choice: stay and save the people and life they've unintentionally grown fond of, or do what they've always done best run.
