Exercise shows the form of a dancer slowly emerging from a haze of paper fibers, then progressing through a series of movements from slow and repetitive to wild and convulsive. The video was created from several appropriated clips found online, split into individual frames, printed onto course grained paper, then re-digitized and re-constituted as moving images. The result resembles certain early cinema where the movement of the grain and the texture of the medium can be nearly as dramatic as the action in the frame.
