While on air, a TV personality accidentally admits she hates Christmas. When she goes to a small town to film a special to repair her image, the Christmas spirit begins to change her life.

Kate Harper, a television personality, is sent to a small town in North Dakota to discover her Christmas spirit after accidentally being caught on live TV saying she dislikes Christmas. Along the way, she reconciles with her father and her college boyfriend while finding her Christmas spirit.—marjojimbo

Kate Harper is the host of the nationally broadcast, Los Angeles-based "The Morning Show with Kate Harper" for NTN News. She and Jack Brewster, the show's recently-hired producer and showrunner, were college sweethearts when they were in the same journalism program. They are able to have a good professional relationship despite their personal one not working out, the problem at the time being distance; Jack asked another woman to marry him, but that marriage has ended Kate's beloved status with her viewers takes a turn when a glitch leads to the accidental broadcasting of Kate announcing after a Christmas-themed show that she doesn't like Christmas, then accidentally pushing the guest, a Christmas-ornament collector, to the ground--which, because of her statement, some see as deliberate. The ensuing publish backlash against her forces network executive Lauren Foster to order that Kate accept the invitation of Ted Drysdale, the mayor of Hollyvale, North Dakota, to visit the town that promotes itself as the "biggest little Christmas town in the country." Jack is to accompany her as they are to air two-minute promotional segments during the week leading up to December 25, about why Hollyvale is the Christmas capital, hopefully with Kate showing the public that she has regained the Christmas spirit. Kate had been hoping to spend her Christmas vacation in a warmer climate, so she doubly resents this assignment, although she swears that she can fake holiday cheer for the cameras. Jack wants to retain Lauren's idea for the segments to show the public that Kate has the Christmas spirit, but Kate turns investigator when, although the town displays outward signs of Christmas something doesn't seem right: everybody's talking about a Christmas tree that had traditionally adorned the town square being conspicuously absent. Why is Kate anti-Christmas, and will this assignment--with some unwitting and some purposeful help from Jack and others in town--change her attitude?—Huggo
