Sarah has a strange profession. People come to her when they have nowhere else to go, and she helps them in a way no one else will. She euthanizes them. When a new neighbor moves in and gets the wrong idea, his romantic advances threaten to make business difficult for Sarah. They eventually both come face to face with a fundamental question: Why are we alive?
