The story tells the life of the peasant Estrellita, who decides to travel to Buenos Aires after the death of her mother to forge a better future. However, her father is remarried to a manipulative wife, which does not help the young woman at all. Because of her stepmother, Estrellita ends up working as a maid in the mansion of Juanjo, her stepmother's son-in-law, who is a depressed man for being married to an invalid woman. However, little by little the love between Estrellita and Juanjo will emerge.
