Real life story of Sushmita Bannerjee, a Bengali who married an Afghan Jaahbaaz. She moves into Afghanistan only to realize the fraud her husband was. She is fed with the Sharia life, tries to escape twice to finally come back to India.

Sushmita Mukherjee an Indian women is in love with a Afghani man Jaanbaaz when her family decides to go against their relationship they marry and shift to Afghanistan. Upon reaching the country Sushmita is terrified to see corpses, bomb explosions and militants everywhere and wants to return back but Jaanbaaz takes her to her family who welcomes her but few believe her to be women against Islam. Sushmita notices that Taliban has taken control over everything and want people to live according to their rules and those who decide to go against that are killed. She also finds that Jaanbaaz was already married to another women, while women in their village face lot of troubles and die due to medical negligence. Sushmita with whatever knowledge she has decides starts a small clinic for women and also teaches them to fight for their rights where Taliban and few of her members term her as Kaafir (disbeliever in god).Sushmita manages to face all the troubles and only has a wish to return back to India with her adopted daughter.[email protected]

Sushmita and Jaanbaz live in India, and they are in love. They intend to marry, but Sushmita's family is strongly opposed to the marriage, since Jaanbaz is a Muslim and they are Hindus. But Sushmita and Jaanbaz do get married, and Jaanbaz takes her with him to his country--Afghanistan. On the way there, Sushmita is horrified to see mutilated corpses, bomb explosions, and armed militants. She is terrified and asks Jaanbaz to take her back, but Jaanbaz takes her to his home. Jaanbaz's family is delighted with Sushmita and welcomes her. But some members of his family regard her as a non-believer. Soon, Sushmita is given a Muslim name, Sayed Kamal and, later, gives birth to a baby girl. Sushmita's attempts to flee with her daughter are all in vain. Is she destined to live in a country where women have no rights, bear abuse all the time, and cannot even leave the threshold of their dwelling without a male escort?
