Struggling screenwriter Josh Kendricks finds himself the star of his own disaster movie when super volcanoes begin erupting all over Los Angeles Now Josh, along with wacko-scientist-turned-novelist Quinn Irwin and Hollywood diva Kat Rivers, must band together to get Quinns' research to the mayor and save the city before it blows in one final eruption.

Commissioned by a big film studio to rewrite the script for an upcoming disaster movie, the talented writer and major geology geek, Josh, suddenly, gets a front-row seat in a nightmare come true: an imminent volcanic eruption. Working side by with his personal hero, Professor Irwin, and the movie's young protagonist, Kat Rivers, the team must work fast, as a mysterious new fault line next to San Andreas triggers a swarm of devastating earthquakes that threaten to kill thousands, and level the city. The earth is crumbling under the feet of the unsuspecting Angelenos, and a sea of molten magma is about to boil over.
