A scientist struggles to convince his colleagues and family that a major volcanic eruption is only days away from destroying the New Zealand city of Auckland.

--- Professor Clive de Roo (played by Mark Mitchinson) detects volcanic activity under the Auckland Harbour in his native New Zealand. He surmises that they are only days away from an eruption that would overtake the city. But given his reputation of being somewhat of a maverick, his calls to evacuate the city initially fall on deaf ears. --- Concurrently intertwined are the stories of others navigating their own turbulent lives amidst the looming backdrop: a single mother undergoing an emergency mastectomy, leaving her two young sons home alone to fend for themselves; a young Chinese couple amid a bad break-up and their overly concerned landlord; as well as Clive's wife, Mere (played by Nicola Kawana), masking her unhappiness with alcohol and work while their teenage daughter, Molly (played by Billie Holland), does her best to hold the family together. --- All mounting as Clive tries fervently to convince his colleagues and the rest of the city that the threat is real, and getting closer, with each day counting down to a pending volcanic eruption.—talentest
