in 1969 Liverpudlian Eddie Braben reluctantly agrees to write scripts for the fading comedians Morecambe and Wise, whose act he despises. He determines to turn them into a true double act, creating many of the catch-phrases and sketches which would be their trademark. He agrees to one last script - the ratings-topping Christmas show of 1977, after which a grateful Morecambe and Wise tell him, "You made us."—don @ minifie-1
