Visiting the coffee shop run by his sister near the frontlines, Sang-cheol falls in love with the new employee, Nan-shil. All the soldiers flirt with her as well but she ends up choosing and marrying an army doctor. Distraught, Sang-cheol returns to the front and is killed in battle.
