A teenage girl is charged with looking after her baby sister following the death of her mother. Simultaneously, a strange fungal parasite known as Mycel is spreading, transforming the world around her.

Lena is a thirteen-year-old teenager who keeps dreaming of an apocalyptic approach: The takeover of the Mycel - a natural fungal parasite that changes people's minds and behavior. First she ignores those visions. But after the unfortunate and somewhat very mysterious death of her mother while giving birth to a newborn, Lena's sanity slowly starts to fade. While more and more people turn aggressive and start burying themselves in the ground to become a living part of the fungal parasite, Lena's father also made his decision to leave. But Lena, who took on the burden to care for baby Matilda already made different plans of her own approach to fight back the manipulating thoughts of the Mycel.
