Isolated in a new world, Mila must battle her fragmented and shame-ridden future memories to prevent her present imprisonment from happening. Again.
The Wardens, our new gods, are the only living beings left in a world that has been wiped out due to war, poverty, and the mistakes of humankind. MILA (30s) a member of the Earth Initiative Clean Up Crew, has been reborn, again, and is kept prisoner in a cell created up of past memories, future decisions, and her ever-lasting struggle with the death of innocence (Eve). Mila speaks with The Wardens as they try to uncover the inner workings of humankind but Mila, being able to control her past memories, uses this opportunity to try and escape the cell she is trapped in. Mila speaks of the pains of isolation and the effects they can have on a human, the mistakes made by love, and how she too was tired of a broken world. Little does Mila know that The Wardens are aware of her potential escape leaving her with the question, how do you escape humanity when you are human?
Mila believes that the only reason she is being rebirthed (brought back to life) over and over again is due to the memories that were stored in her counterpart's mind, EVE (30s) an American member of the Earth Initiative, and looks to destroy them. After many failed attempts to wipe out the memories of Eve and her past actions, Mila finally succumbs to The Warden's wishes and tells them everything she remembers of the past world including her most shameful memories. Mila, in a turn of desperation, decides that The Wardens are right and the world is best off without human life. She attempts to commit suicide, the last option, only to be brought back to life and face her demons over and over again.
