After finding his wife in the arms of another man, army officer Rolf Dahlman kills his rival and then goes by train to Finland to fight in the Winter War, joining the voluntary Swedish forces under assumed name Rolf Berg. His knowledge of tactical planning is soon apparent to his comrades in arms. An army doctor, Eva Lövgren, quickly learns of the truth but finds herself attracted to him.—Mattias Thuresson
