Experience an intimate, gripping view of Music Director Xian Zhang and the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra performing Florence Price's Piano Concerto in One Movement, with Inon Barnatan on the piano, and Mozart's Symphony No. 39. The film is directed by Jersey native, Newark-raised Yuri Alves, who interweaves images of breathtaking dance performances by Cori Barnes and M.A. Taylor. New Jersey Symphony Orchestra favorite Inon Barnatan joins forces with Music Director Xian Zhang and the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra for Florence Price's under-recognized Piano Concerto-a work full of glorious melodies, rhythmic dance figures, and keyboard pyrotechnics-performed alongside one of Mozart's final symphonies, a personal favorite of Xian. This concert was recorded live and filmed on RED cinema cameras at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, NJ, on February 10, 2021. The film features the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and Inon Barnatan on stage, dance performances by Cori Barnes and M.A. Taylor, and behind-the-scenes images of New Jersey Symphony Orchestra musicians. Presented in black-and-white 4K Ultra HD.
