Ellen Coughlan experiences the State of Texas for the first time in this 4 part travel documentary series.

Everything is bigger, brighter, and better in Texas - or so they would have us believe. But how much truth is there in that? Ellen Coughlan is eager to find out, and is embarking on an incredible journey through the Lone Star State to find out. Travelling down the eastern side of the state, the adventure begins with a bang in the Cowboy city of Fort Worth - lots of bang's actually, as Ellen finds herself caught up in a Wild West gunfight, hears the whip's cracking at the rodeo, before being handed a loaded rifle herself. It was shots of a different kind that rang out in Dallas back in 1963, and Ellen's visit to the very place from where President John F Kennedy was assassinated is both intriguing and sobering. From cowgirl to spacewoman, Ellen's next stop is the city of Houston, where she climbs aboard a space shuttle, and learns what it will take to get to Mars. She also meets some of the state's prehistoric residents, before continuing south to the Gulf coast, and ending her journey in the glorious city of Galveston - sharing her hotel with a few ghosts. It's all part of the fun, in Ellen's Texas Adventure.—John Plaskett
