The Merchi enters the dark world of moneylenders and debt collectors to earn money and save his ailing father, but the Merchi is incapable of hurting people.
A young man in his 30s nicknamed "The Merchi" goes into the criminal world to get quick money and save his sick father. He begins working as a collector for those defaulters who asked for loans from Mr. M. But, unlike Alonso, his partner, Merchi hates violence and is too good, therefore, he never hurts defaulters. Consequently, his peaceful attitude will bring him numerous problems with Alonso and his boss.El Merchi is a noble and peaceful man, he hates violence since in his childhood he saw how his father mistreated his mother. Despite this, she maintains a strong bond with him and, when he falls ill, tries to save him. El Merchi talks about his problem to Verónica, his occasional lover, and she introduces him to Mr. M, a moneylender, who needed to renew the collection of debt collectors. Then, the Merchi begins to work for him as a collector so that he can get quick money and pay for his father's treatment. Soon after, he began to have problems because, enemy of all violence, he did not hurt the defaulters, leaving Mr. M. in ridicule. He also has problems with Alonso, his partner, a sadistic and violent man, who treats him as a coward and soft.Verónica, the Femme Fatale, runs a bar where bill collectors meet and secretly works as an informant for Mr. M., transmitting news about his employees, especially about Alonso, who has the illusion of one day being able to unseat him.After the last mistake, Mr. M. gives Merchi one last chance and sends him to collect together with Alonso at the home of a debtor. But things don't go the way they thought. Violence takes over the environment and the unexpected becomes possible. The Merchi understands that individual freedom does not really exist and that it is only an illusion that one has to cope with existence.
