After Matilde's mother, with whom she had a different relationship, dies, she finds a new job as a governess to Paula, a strange child who is neglected by her father Pablo in favor of his business, and her uncle--Pablo's twin brother Miguel--and her aunts. Pablo isn't really a widower; his wife is in a clinic with schizophrenia. The story revolves around a wonderful fountain that Matilde and Pablo's stepmother Luz want to use for thermal baths. Pablo and Paula are affectionate to Matilde, but Pablo is killed by the Mafia and Miguel takes his place to protect his family, and he falls in love with Matilde.—Anonymous
