Bombay-based Usha Sinha lives a wealthy lifestyle with her widowed dad, a retired Colonel. During her birthday celebration at her grandmother's in Lucknow, she encounters a flirt, but avoids him, only to run into him again in a taxi-cab, and then in her very own house in Bombay. She finds out that his name is Suresh, who has been hired by her dad as a Manager. Eventually both she and Suresh fall in love with each other. Suresh appears to care a lot about Usha and even takes her to a doctor for a medical check-up to ensure her well-being, to which she agrees, without knowing that she has brain tumor and is not expected to live more than one year. What the Sinhas do not know is that Suresh does not love Usha at all, for his true love is a Lucknow-based woman named Rajani, and he is merely here to win their trust, so that he can be successful in robbing them of all their cash and valuables.—rAjOo ([email protected])
Usha Sinha is a young woman who lives with her retired colonel father, Mr. Sinha. She has had a brain tumor for a long time, and despite undergoing many surgeries, her doctor has discovered that there is no cure for her condition. She has been given only 1 year to live. Meanwhile, Usha goes to her aunt's home to celebrate her birthday and meets a flirt named Suresh Kumar. He helps her find her aunt's necklace, which he himself had stolen. He tries to impress Usha, but she ignores him. The next day, she encounters him again in a taxi and later discovers that Suresh is the manager who her father has hired to manage their lands. Unbeknownst to Usha and her father, Suresh and his girlfriend Rajini plan to rob their money. Gradually, Usha becomes impressed by Suresh and starts to develop feelings for him. However, when she realizes that Suresh does not truly love her, she faints. Seeing her condition worsen, Mr. Sinha asks Suresh to help Usha. He pleads with Suresh to pretend to love her for the limited time she has left, promising to give him a monthly payment of 10,000 rupees. Realizing this as an opportunity to earn money, Suresh agrees to the plan and pretends to love Usha. As Usha's health improves, Rajini tells Suresh to refer Usha to a good doctor. Rajini begins to suspect that there may be a genuine relationship between Usha and Suresh. Investigator J. B. Pinto and his girlfriend Mary are entrusted with finding out the truth. Usha receives a letter about her health condition but is prohibited from reading it. When questioned, Suresh claims that the letter is about his friend Vinod's surgery. Meanwhile, Pinto informs Rajini that Suresh truly loves Usha. Over time, Suresh genuinely falls in love with Usha. Rajini visits Usha's house to inform Suresh to come to Lucknow, but he refuses. Suresh secretly takes Usha to Mussoorie with the intention of consulting Dr. Lawrence. However, Mary, who is working as a servant in Usha's house, informs Rajini about this through Pinto. Pinto, who is caught by the police for loitering in front of Usha's house late at night, informs Suresh that Rajini has learned about their trip to Mussoorie. Pinto agrees to assist Suresh. While Suresh and Usha are en route to Mussoorie, Pinto takes Rajini and leads her astray. Suresh lies to Usha and takes her to Dr. Lawrence. Dr. Lawrence promises Suresh that he will find a way to cure her. Meanwhile, Rajini reveals to Usha the truth about her health condition and Suresh's lack of genuine love for her. Heartbroken, Usha tells Suresh to leave the house and attempts to commit suicide by jumping into a waterfall. On the way to the waterfall, Usha sees Suresh pleading for her life at the temple and realizes that he truly loves her. Dr. Lawrence states that surgery is futile for Usha's condition. However, due to Mr. Sinha's insistence, Dr. Lawrence performs the surgery, which is successful and Usha is fortunate to survive. The film ends with Pinto and Mary going to the church to get married, and Usha and Suresh walking hand in hand along the path.
