Bhairavi, a renowned singer, sees a revolutionary Sandeep badly injured and takes him home for treatment. Sandeep had left his father Upendra as Sandeep had taken to terrorism. He hated women and music, but Bhairavi's company mellowed him and he fell in love with her. She was, however, a mother of Kajvi by a spouse Avinash who had ditched her. Kajri started living with Upendra and their affection turned into love. Avinash, who had been suffering from blood cancer, suddenly returned before Bhairavi was to marry Sandeep. Upendranath lives a widowed but very wealthy lifestyle with his only child, a son, Sandeep. Sandeep grows up to be a headstrong and stubborn young man, and decides to leave his dad's house and make a life for himself on his own. He ends up with a beautiful older woman named M.K. Bhairavi, who is a singing artiste, and also leads a very wealthy lifestyle. Bhairavi and Sandeep are attracted to each other, and fall in love. Both announce their plans to marry. Then a man by the name of Avinash, claiming to be the husband of Bhairavi enters their lives. He meets with Sandeep and relates his story to him, and also tells him of their daughter by the name of Kajri.
