A middle class honest government employee cannot effort to buy a piece of land due to his poverty.

Aminul Haque, a middle-class government employee, lives with his wife Latifa and two children. He is very honest in his work, though his co-workers inspire him to adopt dishonesty. His dream is to buy land in Dhaka for his residence where he would live happily with his family. He searches news-related land in newspapers. He finds one by the side of the Meghna river, but it goes under water during the rainy season. He loses hope and returns home with a sorrowful heart and a fever. The police come to his house in search of his son Sohel, who snatched a passerby's briefcase. Aminul cannot take this shock. Finally, he gets his desired land--but forever.—wakim
