An axe murderer terrorizes a small Northern California mountain community, while two young computer-obsessed adults attempt to solve the killings.

In Paddock town, the exterminator Richard Simmons and the computer and electronics technician Gerald Martin are best friends. Richard is married with the older Laura Simmons in a loveless marriage, since Richard was only interested in her money. When Gerald meets Lillian Nebbs, he immediately have a crush on her. Meanwhile, women are found dead with wounds caused by an axe, and the incompetent local sheriff takes a long time to believe there is a serial-killer in the calm Paddock.
