An obsessive scientist experiments his banned drug on a child to realize its defectiveness; as a result, the two grow older to share an intolerable hate for one another.
Dr. Luth Femming believes his new solvent will be a breakthrough in medicine, but unfortunately is denied human trials and loses the opportunity to continue. In desperate times, he finds desperate measures. With his last few syringes he manages to effectively manipulate a young boy named Jace to be the first to try the drug. Femming reassures the child that the world needs this to happen, but the experiment fails and the child endures a bizarre skin mutation. Femming expresses no pity for Jace and instead sympathizes for himself and his failure.
Later as an adult, Jace battles this skin condition as it regrows every morning. Even though he carries a normal face for the rest of the day, this little secret becomes a tick that affects his persona, love life, and work immensely. His girlfriend resents him for his gruesome look, his co-workers think he is a loser, his boss is a dunce, and his best buddy Ivan lives a playboy lifestyle that forces their friendship to clash. In the midst of events, Femming finds Jace and uses him as a scapegoat for his failure; only after several threats to Jace's life is when it finally begins to shape his perception of the world. While Femmings obsessions continue to grow, Jace's and Femming's hostility for one another ultimately changes the course of their lives forever.
Ecdysis is a multi-genre film that changes tone very quickly; in addition, its multi-dimensional soundtrack will have any music enthusiast in tune.
