Summaries

Naples is made of dazzling images that speak for themselves. This movie emancipates the city from its state of a mere postcard for tourists, moving away from the negative stereotypes, even if some are sadly true, to recount those elements that belong to its deepest identity. We arrive from the sea, on a sailing boat, and the postcard is turned to its reverse shot. The gaze embraces the landscape in an overall panorama and then goes quietly looking for the details, directing the observer to hidden places. The gaze becomes almost voyeuristic as it collects gestures that remain suspended, forever immortalized in the imagination. A movie of concentrated visions, pondered words, muffled sounds.—Anonymous
