The murder of the unscrupulous opportunist, Takis Katridis, at point-blank, puts Martha, a gullible young girl who was once in love with him, as well as her father, the honest craftsman Yannis, in the dock. Separately, each one of them, solemnly claims to be guilty, in high hopes that the other won't go to prison. However, during the seemingly straightforward trial, their counsel, Yorgos, who grew up with them, and knows Martha very well, takes the initiative and follows his risky defence strategy, in a desperate attempt to prove the girl's innocence.
