A woman goes on a hunt to find her twin sister's rapist and murderer.
Sonia and Naina Sehgal (both played by Kajol) are twins. The two are completely different from each other, Sonia being the outgoing twin and Naina being the shy twin. At the same time the police are hunting for a killer and rapist. The man Gokul Pandit (Ashutosh Rana) is a cold-blooded animal and has chosen Naina for his next target. However tragedy strikes when Gokul brutally kills Sonia. Naina is distraught and vows to hunt down Gokul. Gokul soon goes after Naina and she realizes she needs help to overcome her fear of him. With that she meets Suraj Singh Rathod (Sanjay Dutt), a retired and blind major and he helps her physically and mentally to defeat her fear of Gokul. After an argument Suraj refuses to meet Naina and she decides to go after Gokul alone without the help of the police or Suraj.—gavin@[email protected]

In a parallel story-line, the police are hunting for a sadistic killer and sexual predator, Gokul Pandit (Ashutosh Rana).Sonia is dating Kabir Singh Rathod (Jas Arora). Naina knows that Kabir loves Sonia but is afraid of her temper and hence has never mustered courage to ask for her hand in marriage. Naina encourages and tutors Kabir and he finally proposes to Sonia.
Tragedy strikes the Sehgal household when Gokul sexually assaults and brutally kills Sonia. Gokul was actually stalking Naina, but she was saved when her mother was at home the night Gokul had arrived to sexually assault her. Gokul was frustrated at his aborted attempt but was determined to sexually assault Naina. Gokul comes back again the following day, but this time he finds Sonia alone inside the house and attacks her. Sonia was talking to Naina and so she hears the whole sexual assault scene. After sexually assaulting Sonia, Gokul kills her with stabbing and a ice block smashed on her head.Sunanda is Gokul's fiance and a nurse at a hospital and Gokul had used a surgical knife to stab Sonia. On the day of the sexual assault, Sunanda had seen Gokul come back to her hospital with a head wound and had seen him putting a surgical knife back into her cupboard. She had also seen bloodstains under the kitchen sink where Gokul had washed the knife.
After a police investigation (The sniffer dogs led the trail to Sunanda's hospital. There one day Naina recognizes Gokul as a postman who had acted weird with her. She follows Gokul and finds him threatening Sunanda with dire consequences and saying that he had straightened many women like her. Naina convinces Sunanda to testify), Gokul is caught but declared innocent as Sunanda (Vani Tripathi), one of the main witnesses (and Gokul's fiance) gives a false statement in court (when Gokul begs Sunanda in live court that he is innocent and offers to marry her)Gokul indicates to Naina that she was right, and he did sexually assault Sonia. He marries Sunanda, but then takes her to the jungle, murders her and buries her body.
Naina is distraught and vows to hunt down Gokul. She starts following Gokul and raises an alarm when he tries to sexually assault another woman. Gokul soon goes after Naina, and she realizes she needs help to overcome her fear of Gokul (who is now calling her regularly at home to threaten her). With revenge in her mind, she meets Suraj Singh Rathod (Sanjay Dutt) (at a chance encounter in a veggies market while running away from Gokul), a blind military veteran, who helps her to rid her fear of Gokul. Bheem Bahadur Singh (Kunal Khemu) is Suraj's assistant. Suraj plays boxing matches and has trained himself to "hear" the blows coming when he cant see them.
Naina meets another nurse at the hospital who tells her that Sunanda has not attended her duty for many days and her money orders and pay have returned from the village where Gokul claims she is. Naina tells the police that Gokul has killed Sunanda as he knew one day she would reveal the truth. But Gokul is smart and had got Sunanda to write Pre-dated letters which he was posting to himself as proof that Sunanda was still alive.Gokul is let go and that very night he attacks Naina and almost kills her, but for the timely intervention of 2 beat cops who force Gokul to retreat.
Nania goes to Suraj crying, but Suraj gives her tough love and tells her to fight for herself. He wants her to stop feeling sorry for herself. While Suraj trains Naina, they develop feelings for each other.
One day - after an argument - Suraj refuses to meet Naina (Naina wants to have a relationship with Suraj, and Suraj rebuffs her saying that she cannot have any meaningful life with a blind man) and she decides to go after Gokul all by herself, who kidnaps Naina's younger sister (Dia) from school in order to scare Naina. Gokul takes Dia to the zoo and eventually drops her home at the end of the day.
Naina's mother Poornima (Tanvi Azmi) consequently decides to leave for Nainital immediately as her daughter's life is at risk. However, Naina cannot control her hatred and wanted to avenge her sister at any cost. Naina lays a trap for Gokul and tries to kill him but Gokul ties her up and tries to sexually assault her like her sister. Suraj arrives at her house and fights Gokul but ends up being stabbed. Naina manages to get free and fatally shoot Gokul.
Suraj recovers from his injuries and decides to go away from Naina, but she realizes that she loves him and cannot live without him. Naina and Suraj get together at the airport where Suraj was about to leave the city.
