This story is set in Mughal era in India, during the period Salim was born to Emperor Akbar. An astrologer predicted that Salim should not be raised in the palace till the age of twelve, instead he should be put in a house where a boy of the same age has taken birth, luckily a house was found where a widow had given birth to a boy (Dulla Bhatt) on the same day and time. But here destiny had played the cruel game. Akbar had killed the widows husband and widow considered him as her biggest enemy. Still she agreed to raise the child. Both boys were bought up together interacting bondage of love and affection for each other.
