Drinking with Daren began airing on Portland cable stations in the summer of 2005, running for over five years with a total of 141 episodes. A documentary-style show highlighting breweries and beer festivals in the Pacific Northwest from the perspective of a young drinker in their 20's, the program became immensely popular with local audiences and Drinking with Daren was picked up by CBS Radio's KUFO 101.1 FM station to produce a weekly "beer beat" segment for drive-time listeners of the Cort and Fatboy Show, reaching fans for a year and a half before the station's format was changed to talk radio.
