Compilation footage of the annual newsreels of the village of Drachten from the 1970s and 1980s, by filmmaker Anton Stoelwinder.

In the 1970s and 1980s, filmmaker Anton Stoelwinder made fourteen newsreel films about Drachten, Friesland. Every year he produced in cooperation with Bureau Voorlichting of the Municipality of Smallingerland a film report of what happened in Drachten that year. In this compilation documentary we see how VV Drachten took on Feyenoord in 1983 with Johan Cruijff, the opening of Children's Farm 'De Naturij' with Mies Bouwman and Hans Wiegel, but also the unexpected passing of Mayor Van Knobelsdorff.
