Jack DuBlon had been the host of Nightmare Theatre as Dr. Cadaverino since 1964 until 1977. In 1980, WITI Channel 6 Milwaukee, Wisconsin brought DuBlon back for a TV special to be screen on Halloween.

When in January 1980, WISN-TV commenced its own version of "Shock Theater", WITI decided to bring Dr. Cadaverino out of retirement for this TV special, which was aired on Halloween night 31 October 1980, the same date that WISN-TV showed its new "Shock Theater Double Feature". This was the last time that Dr. Cadaverino and Igor would appearance. DuBlon died of pancreatic and liver cancer on 25 July 1988.—The Professor
