A mini-saga about the life of three families, each happy and unhappy in its own way - the Dolskys, the Dymovs and the Markovs. Almost like Bunin's sunstroke, which happened between student Olga Dymova and her teacher Mikhail Dolskiy: a breakup and a chance meeting after fifteen long years led to a whole series of events. Olga is torn between the love of her youth, Dolskiy, who has long been married to Lyudmila, and her current husband Aleksandr, a talented cardiac surgeon. No less dramatic is the story of Mikhail's best friend, Pyotr Markov, who is married to a beautiful woman, Rita. Their marriage cannot be called ideal: all these years, Rita took her husband's numerous betrayals for granted, justifying it by the impossibility of being alone after the loss of her six-year-old son. However, when Rita accidentally meets her husband's young mistress, she finally understands in what abyss of self-deception she has lived for many years, and decides to leave Pyotr. Moreover, a magical meeting with an ideal man happens in her life.
