A district in northern part of Bengal was included in the map of India in 1949 as a province. But in 1950 it became a district of West Bengal. The inhabitants of this area are known as Rajbanshi. They still have a grievance in their mind because they believe that they are fully deprived as an ethnic group.—Amitabha Dasgupta
