Egor Tulpanov is a gifted heart surgeon but he is forced to work in a vet clinic after a medical error. His wife leaves him, and his brother is trying to hoist his card debt onto him. Egor tries to drown his sorrows in drink and meets Koshuba, a former cop hell-bent on revenge: his family was killed by bandits. By accident Egor meets Khvat, the criminal behind the death of Koshuba's family, and saves his life.
