Synopsis

Strax (Dan Starkey) sneeringly handcuffs a man, but the nearby Inspector Gregson (Paul Hickey) reins him in. Annoyed, Jenny (Catrin Stewart) apologizes for Strax. The inspector speculates that Strax is from Turkey, but Madame Vastra (Neve McIntosh) informs him that Strax is a genetically modified clone warrior from outer space.

Inspector Gregson mentions some highlights of their case, and thanks Madame Vastra for helping Scotland Yard. Her responding insult is coached politely and seems to bounce off him. Then he asks if her skin condition hurts, but Jenny explains that's just Madame's skin. Madame Vastra explains that she was one of many intelligent reptiles from an ancient civilization who are sleeping under the Earth's crust. She was awoken by an extension to the London Underground. She decided to stay when she fell in love with Jenny. As she affectionately puts her arm around Jenny and walks away, the inspector gulps.

Later, in the coach, Vastra and Jenny laugh at Gregson's astonishment. But more soberly, they discuss The Doctor and his broken hearts. Then they notice that it is snowing even though there are no clouds.
