Jill Martin (Dana Plato), a pretty New York art director, arrives in Los Angeles to supervise a photo shoot with local photographer Jack (Bentley Mitchum), who happens to have a gorgeous girlfriend also called Jill (Landon Hall). Jack and Jill engage in some midday sex and, forgetting that Martin is suppose to stay with them, almost get caught by her when she arrives. Martin happens to be a lesbian whose girlfriend Alicia (Gabriella Hall) is secretly cheating on her back home. Coincidentally, Jack, who's a bit of a sexist, has also cheated on his Jill with one of his models. He later unapologetic-ally brags to his buddy, Rick (David Millbern), who brought Martin from the airport, how he's certain that Martin is attracted to him and how he could cheat on Jill with her.
When Jack leaves the house with his friend, Martin and Jill spend a lazy afternoon skinny dipping in Jill's pool. Afterwards, Jill goes to take a shower, so Martin joins her and sensually soaps her back. This erotic moment doesn't go any further as Jill leaves when she's done showering. Jack returns and peeps on Martin in the shower for a bit but then leaves to talk to Jill in her room.
Later, Martin, Jack and Jill have a little celebration in the living room to mark the beginning of their successful work relationship. Jack and Jill then retire for the evening and have noisy sex in their room, while Martin is left alone and depressed. She tries to call her cheating girlfriend Alicia, but no one answers. She goes to bed and her day flashes before her eyes implying that she's attracted to Jill. After Jack falls a sleep, Jill gets out of her bed end goes to Martin's room. The girls' day together then flashes before Jill's eyes as well implying that Jill also feels attraction for Martin.
The next day, the shoot takes place near the woods and everything goes well. Martin finally realizes that Alicia is cheating on her when she manages to reach her over the phone. That evening, Martin, Jill, Jack and his buddy visit a local restaurant and Martin and Jill engage in a seductive dance, which entertains the men.
Afterwords, Martin and Jill leave for Jill's place. There, they talk for a bit and Jill agrees to let Martin sleep in her bed. Jill then goes to bed and Martin joins her. They begin kissing and start making love. After some foreplay, Martin goes down on Jill, and Jill quickly reaches a loud and intense orgasm. The next day, Martin and Jill have a romantic picnic at the place where the shoot happened and kiss some more.
Later that day, Martin finds compromising photos of Jack being with his mistress and shows them to Jill. Jill and Jack have a nasty fight which results in a short car chase and Jill giving Jack the finger through her car window. Martin and Jill spend more time together as Martin comforts her, and they make love one more time. Meanwhile, Jack convinces himself that he doesn't care about the breakup and decides to phone his mistress to see if she's in the mood for a tryst. She agrees and they have sex. However, during his climax, Jack has flashbacks of Jill realizing that he does love her and that he misses her.
Since the shoot is done, Martin must return to New York, so she asks Jill to come with her. Unfortunately, Jill is not ready for such commitment, so Martin leaves Jill her number in case Jill changes her mind. Melancholic Jill then watches from her balcony as saddened Martin waves her goodbye and leaves in a cab. That's when Jack calls Jill on the phone, who at first doesn't answer, but then finally does and that's where the movie ends.
