Germany, 1927: In order to save her reputation after a tragic accident, neurologist Auguste (Laura Eichten) helps a wealthy dementia patient: the reclusive Roland (Falk Rockstroh). While Auguste's husband keeps an eye on Roland's large fortune, Auguste notices that Roland becomes more mentally stable when he talks about Karoline, his deceased childhood sweetheart.
