From Germany, Israel, and France to the US and the USSR, the series follows the longings, dreams and struggles of six very different men and women whose destinies touch the nexus of power: Wernher von Braun, Hedwig Hoess, Nikita Khrushchev, Joan Hinton, Golda Meir and Frantz Fanon. Their divergent desires, struggles and contradictions, both personal and political, crystalise the divisions and decisions that made history from World War II to the 1960s - when the world was divided into East and West and the colonial order crumbled.
