A retelling of The Princess and The Pea. The princess runs away and finds work at an orphanage to avoid marrying a prince she has never met. She unknowingly meets him while they are both pretending to be commoners which leaves him to decide whether he should follow his heart or marry for the good of the kingdom. Little does he know that he can do both.

A royal prince and heir unwilling to engage in a dynastic marriage became an incognito apprentice carpenter, gifted. He falls in love with a classy, sassy girl he meets as champion of the local orphanage run by a nun. He ignores she also ran away to avoid being married off. However the prince is being searched by orders of the king, he is about the abdicate as he approaches the age limit, and wants his noble son to succeed, which is only possible if he marries a princess first, and by his sister, who sent her ambitious, sycophantic court squire to prevent him succeeding, as the throne then falls to her.
