Synopsis

In Malaysia, in a huge plantation called Summer Hill, a young girl will inherit everything, as she is the only daugher. Her father is a widower and the girl can't even remember her mother. Paul Pflüger (Erol Sander) is the overseers of the plantation, and with his modern ideas he wants to grow ecological tea, but his father-in-law just wants to make money. The father tells off one of his workers, Mourand (Nurul Huda) because he has used chemicals.

The mother, Anna Stelzer (Katja Weitzenböck), recently divorced, argues with his ex-husband because he has to work and doesn't want to take their son - who has failed two subjects - out for some holidays.

John O'Hanlon (Peter Fitz) asks Sarah (Ankie Beilke) to convince Paul that he should go back to the traditional polluting way of growing tea. Sarah says that profits have been reduced. John gives a monkey to Aisha Pflüger (Lena Beyerling), the young girl whose birthday they ae celebrating. Paul has paid for Samad (Ren Yeoh)'s heart operation in Germany. Sarah tells Paul that he has succeeded in creating a true ecological farm. A company which sells in Germany is going to visit the plantation to decide whether the requirements are enough to buy all the tea.

As the holidays in Italy are done for, Mark Stelzer (Nicolas Schinseck) convinces his mother to take him and Samad to Malaysia. The worker who was told off was Samad's father, but Paul paid for Samad's operation. Anna and doctor Nicolas Leiner (Hendrik Duryn) seem to hit it off immediately. Sarah seems instantly jealous of Anna. Leiner pulls Anna's leg, and then he advises her to wear long sleeves, or mosquitoes will eat her off.

Paul is worried about Namira (Fauziah Nawi)'s magical practices, which are influencing Aisha a lot. Sarah tells Paul to give Namira the sack, but he is grateful because Namira has grown up two generations of Pflügers. Anna tries to help at the local hospital, but Nicolas only wants her to have fun. Namira looks at Aisha, because there is an omen concerning her. Paul doesn't approave of Samad's amulet. Nicolas has to check on Samad.

Sarah tells Anna that she can play the piano, knowing that Paul wil freak out. At that moment, Paul tells Anna to take Mark and leave Summer hill. Sarah tells Paul that she told Anna not to touch that piano, which nobody has played on for 10 years. Anna is also late in returning Nicolas' car, which she used to do a small safari on the surroundings of the plantation. Nicolas tries to convince Anna of staying two days more, as she had planned, but Anna feels that all the men are behaving like children.

Paul convinces the enterpreneur of biological products to buy his tea. Mouland gets sick because of the salmonella. Paul asks Anna to let Mark spend the summer holidays with Aisha while she will help Nicolas at hospital. They share a kiss. John believes on the omen, so he wants Paul to marry Sarah, and not Anna. If Mark and Aisha got married, Aisha would die. Anna finds an old photograph of Cecelia (Ruminah Sidek), who was a Malaysian woman. Anna asks a young girl, Tarina (Binti Ahmad) who brings flowers and fruit to the shrine. She says that it protects the hospital.

Anna and Nicolas have dinner together. Nicolas and Paul had fought for a woman, as both loved Cecelia. Cecelia and Paul's was love at first sight. We see that the same is happening now, as Paul takes Anna away from the hospital. Sarah is jealous because Anna, Mark and Aisha are playing the piano and Paul listens to them but disregards Sarah. Aisha is rude to Sarah, saying that there is a pity that there is no room in the car for anybody else for tomorrow's picnic.

Anna and Paul are about to get engaged. Aisha shows Mark the things which Narima has hanged on a tree to protect them from the bad spirits. Aisha climbs the tree because she has done it before. She falls down, and Paul blames Mark -Aisha has passed out- When Anna is offering some consolation to Mark, she sees Narima. Anna asks her what she has against them. Narima tells the story of the Pflüfer family: the grandfather Pflüfer stole the land from the elders of Narima. They threw an omen. The descendants of the family can only marry local tribe people, or the next year of their marriage the person is going to die, which means that if Mark and Aisha get married, Aisha will die the year after she marries Mark. Paul promises Aisha that he'll say he's sorry to Mark.

John tells Paul that he should do as he did and forget about Anna. Paul talks to Mark. Paul asks a favour from Nicolas: Sarah has changed the biological tea for the usual tea. Paul realises that Sarah is jealous, and she is afraid of losing everything. Sarah talks to Paul non-chanantly, and refuses to have saboutaged. Sarah tries to hit Paul. He loses his patience, and doesn't listen when she says that she loves him.

Anna is angry that Paul didn't tell her about the omen. Paul will always be afraid for Aisha and will blame Mark. Anna says that Mark and her will leave for Germany the following day. Paul insists that she loves her. Aisha hates her father because he is going to let go of Anna. Mark also wants to stay in Malaysia. Namira promises Aisha to talk to the spirits so that they all can become a family. Namira talks to the spirits and makes one of her rituals. A storm appears out of nowhere. A thunderbolt falls on top of the roof of the manor house at Summer Hill. Aisha appears running, because John and Paul are nowhere to be seen. Summerhill is burning down but nobody is hurt because John and Paul have been solving the problem caused by Sarah. The omen is over because the local tribe has recovered their lands. Paul will build a new plantation in the plot of land which the tribeleaders will allow him to.

Anna and Paul kiss and they are about to get married soon.
