Freddy, a smalltime criminal on the run, takes shelter with a pastor and his daughter. Romance with the daughter ensues and causes problems.

Shortly before Christmas the pretty criminal Freddy finds after a shooting a hiding place at his friend Reverent Rehder, who harbor him in the bell tower of his church. Rehder's daughter, 17 year old Laura, discover him by chance. Freddy and Laura fall in love.
