His eldest son gets lost in childhood and becomes a smuggler who later changes to a good-man, while on the other hand his second son and daughter lead a careless life and level-headed.
The lost son in an accidental way comes to his house but couldn't reveal his identity as his past haunts him. Finally, he gets the smugglers and his gang arrested, brings change in his brother and sister's behavior and joins his family, they live happily ever after.
SV Ranga Rao has played the role of a father who is desperately waiting for his lost son.
NTR played the lost son, who joins the gang of robbers headed by Jaggayya and later changes to good human being and suffers within, as he is unable to reveal his identity to his father and family because of his haunting past.
Krishna played the younger son and brother of NTR. He is a spoilt-brat with lots of head weight.
Kanchana played Krishna's sister and is a damn-care attitude girl with no respect towards any one and she lead her life on her own terms.
Vijaya Nirmala played the village girl and later becomes Krishna's love interest. Satyanarayana played an irresponsible and drunkard son of Nirmalamma and he's the brother to Vijaya Nirmala.
While saving Vijaya Nirmala, NTR gets into clash with Krishna. Krishna unable to bear the insult, he gets NTR arrested by his men and punishes him at his home.
NTR after seeing the family members, he comes to know that Krishna is his younger brother, but doesn't reveal because of his haunting past. He gets dear to SV Ranga Rao and tries to bring change in his brother and sister and how he manages to handover the gang of robbers and joins back is family is rest of the story.
