Will the orphan girl win her hero in spite of scheming relatives who seek to keep her in the background?
A claim jumper kills "Alabam"; and his partner "Mendocino" sends Rosemary to his brother Henry, in a southern city. Henry welcomes her, but his wife and daughter Pauline see her as an intruder, especially when young Tom Dowling, whom Mrs. Merridew seeks to match with her daughter, falls in love with Rosemary. Through efforts of the servants, Chlo and Sam, Rosemary and Tom are united. Mendocino, who has struck it rich, comes to the wedding.—Pamela Short
