"Desert" is a poetic ww2 suspense drama about death, rebirth, life and its constant battle for survival. The film takes place during WW2 and is about a German deserter's (played by Jonas Wallin) journey through an unknown desert, his struggle against nature and also the fear of being captured and killed by war forces. It is about a man who wants to escape the horror and cruelty of war and live a free and peaceful life. "Desert" is not your average war movie. It contains no depiction of great battles between armies and the main conflict of the war is not in the center of the film at all. It rather shows how war can affect a man and make him risk his life to escape it's terrors. One could say it is mainly a survival film in a historic setting.—Martin W. Andersson
