An overambitious rookie and a jovial old hand, Danish police officers Ida and Magnus stop at nothing when dark legacies clash with modern crime.
Im dänischen Ribe flüchtet eine junge Frau nachts in Todesangst vor einem Mann in einen Kirchturm - ihr Verfolger ist ihr dicht auf den Fersen. Die lauten Hilfe-Rufe des Opfers erreichen das Polizeipräsidium - und damit auch die junge Polizistin Emma (Zoë Valks). Gemeinsam mit ihrer Kollegin Ida Sörensen (Marlene Morreis) macht sie sich auf den Weg - im Kirchturm kommt es schließlich zu einem tödlichen Schusswechsel, bei dem sowohl Opfer als auch Täter sterben. Emma, die die Schüsse abgefeuert hat, ist sichtlich geschockt, will sich aber nicht helfen lassen, möchte am liebsten alles einfach nur vergessen. Entgegen allen anderen glaubt Ida nicht, dass der Fall damit abgeschlossen ist. Die Tote kommt eigentlich aus Kopenhagen, machte angeblich in Ribe ein Praktikum in der Altenpflege - was wollte sie wirklich dort? Und wo ist das Notebook des Opfers? Es gibt viele Ungereimtheiten. Auch Emma scheint etwas zu verbergen. Nach anfänglichem Zögern ist auch Kollege Magnus Vinter (Nicki von Tempelhoff) davon überzeugt, dass hinter diesem Fall weit mehr steckt.—ARD Degeto
During the night, patrol officer Ida Sörensen hears urgent cries for help from the church tower. The police officer arrives at Ribe Cathedral with her young colleague Emma. There, high up in the tower, a man is threatening a young woman with a knife. Ida and Emma draw their weapons when the mighty bell suddenly rings loudly. In the heat of the moment, Emma shoots the attacker Finn Eriksson - the victim Bente Bruun falls to her death. For Inspector Frieda Olsen, the case is over before it has even begun. However, Ida soon begins to doubt the explanation that it was a foiled rape. Ida soon finds out that Bente, a young investigative journalist, had felt threatened days before. While Ida and her colleague Magnus search for a notebook hidden by Bente, the dubious Konrad Gram and his assistant Viggo try to get there first.
