Features the lives of three swingers couples whose debauched lifestyle of drugs, swapping mates, and abuse begins to catch up to all six of them.
Three New York swingers couples, Bob and Polly, Rod and Linda, Vera and Mark, experiment with drugs, swapping mates, and homosexuality. Vera is a bisexual who learns that she's pregnant but does not know who the father is and finds solace with a lesbian friend. Linda cheats on Rod with his brother-in-law, while Polly is a lesbian in denial whom attends transvestite parties to escape from being around her misogynistic husband Bob.—matt-282
Three couples at a wild orgy experiment with drugs and each other's sensuality. They draw cards as a method of selecting whose husband or wife they will be paired off with. Bob winds up with Mark's wife, Vera, who is horrified when he sadistically burns her with a lit cigarette. He warns her not to mention the incident or he might decide to talk about an affair she had with his wife. The violent act continues.
The next day Vera visits her wealthy mother and discloses the fact that she is pregnant. Mrs. Baxter regards the news as an unnecessary inconvenience and talks Vera into allowing her to pay for an abortion: "Well, all they do is lay you on this table..."
When Rod gets to his office he is confronted by the ineffectual Bruce and the two discuss the previous night's party. For his own reasons Bruce would like to keep Rod away from the women as much as possible, and after a quiet talk the pair go into the stock room together.
At an offbeat village bar the effeminate proprietor Ellie is discussing the news of the day with Lee, an attractive but strange model, when Vera walks into the bar. Lee finds Vera interesting and starts to act overly friendly to the troubled girl. As an excuse to talk to Ellie, Lee goes for a pack of cigarettes at the machine and the two talk about Vera: "She's AC_DC. Take some of that stuff you got in Mexico and put it in her next drink."
Time passes and the "drink" begins to take effect, making Vera feel hot all over. So, she heads to the ladies' room, hoping to straighten herself out. Lee follows her and once inside, the drugged Vera starts to talk about the parties for six that she and her friends have. Lee's eyes brighten upon hearing the stories and she approaches Vera and begins to intimately caress her.
Rod's wife (Linda) goes out to Staten island to help her brother in law (Hank) with the children while her sister is in the hospital. Linda is tired of her husband's weak approach to her, and her need for a "real man" becomes obvious in her conversation with Hank. Their quiet talk in the kitchen soon turns into an orgy of desire.
Bob's wife (Polly) goes to a weird transvestite party and during the casual course of events her earlier lesbian background is revealed. Many unusual types are in attendance, with masculine women and effeminate men predominating. As many are appropriately dressed, it is difficult, even for Polly, to "tell the players without a scorecard."
Rocky takes Polly home in a taxi and soon they find they have something in common as both are bisexual. And, when Polly finds her male companion a little too aggressive for her own tastes, she quickly gets out of the cab. Returning home to Bob, Polly finds she is in no mood for his passionate advances-so, he rips her dress off and drags her into the shower with him.
That night the tree couples assemble for an LSD party and prepare their "sugar cubes" for a "trip". Everyone participates and reality becomes distorted in an "anything goes" revel. Rod follows Bob into the bathroom and Bob, realizing the nature of this intrusion, becomes enraged. He grabs Rod and pushes his head into the toilet.
Life becomes a nightmare of unreality as the three drugged couples lust for pleasure. Suddenly, seized by a strange compulsion, Vera leaps out the window to her death on the street below. The "trip" is abruptly over and the horrified five must now leave the world of fantasy and face the real situation before them.
